Here's what's new in SFMagic v1.02!
-----------------------------------
■ ALT-J ....... Jump to DOS command. You can execute any DOS command
or program or simply hit ENTER to shell to DOS.
SFMagic will only use about 2K of memory when shelled.
Note: SFMagic will attempt to swap memory to EMS, XMS
then to FILE in that order. You can set an environment
variable in your autoexec.bat called TEMP.
(eg. SET TEMP=C:\SWAP) or a ramdrive (1 meg or bigger) to
speed things up.
■ ALT-E ....... ALT-E will allow you to edit the existing description
in the listing. You can edit each line individually,
and HOME, END, and the ARROW keys will move the
cursor, and INSERT will toggle insert on and off. This
is in testing stages and comments are appreciated.
■ ALT-Z ....... This will allow you to add a comment to your ZIP file
using RECOM.EXE. If you've never used this file, you
should check it out! You must have a file called
COMMENT.TXT in the SFMagic directory, with your comment
for the ZIP, and RECOM.EXE must be in the current
directory or in the path.
■ ALT-R ....... Rename A file. This will rename the file in the
SFFILES listing AND on your disk. If the file does not
exist, or there is an error renaming it, only the
SFFILES will be changed.
■ F5 .......... Will change the date of the file in SFFILES.BBS, NOT the
file.
■ F9 .......... This will check all files in the SFFILES listing, and
if any do not exist, will prompt you if you would like
to uncatalog from the listing.
Other things...
Minor bug fixed when a file over a MEG has a dash in the file
name. Thanks Steve Newman!
When moving tagged files, the SFFILES.BBS you are currently in
is automatically saved after the move. Safety first! Thanks
Bill Arlofski!
Still in the works is:
■ FILE_ID.DIZ support.
■ File moved into sorted order.
■ Conversion from one compression type to another.
■ Showing the FULL description in the SFFILES screen.
Many thanks to EVERYONE who has tried SFMagic! I have been getting some
great feedback and suggestions!
